History

The BreakThru Retreat began 29 years ago when five youth ministers brought students from their communities together for a retreat that offered a real encounter with the living God.

Since that time, more than 15,000 students from across the Southeast have been reached for the Kingdom. Over 60 ministers have participated in this unique community representing scores of churches and communities.

The year 2000 saw the most significant changes in the history of the ministry as BreakThru employed people for the first time and took the initial steps in securing land to build a camp which would house the new ministry programs under development.

By 2001, BreakThru had purchased the property and begun an expansion of ministries beyond the annual student retreat, which included retreats for families.

In 2006 Breakthru celebrates its 29th consecutive student retreat, and Timber Creek Camp has entered its 3rd full year of operation.
