BreakThru was an awesome experience for me. It changed my attitude about everything in life. I believe in God, have gone to church, and have been an active member of my youth group. I was brought up in a great Christian family, but there has always been something missing in my life. I would say that I kind of knew God, but I really didn’t know Him as well as I would have liked to. BreakThru changed all that.

At BreakThru 2003, I decided to stop just believing in God, and start living for Him. Now, I surrender everything to my Lord. John 3:30 really describes how I feel now that I’ve experienced BreakThru…”He must increase, and I must decrease.” Thanks to BreakThru, with the power of the Holy Spirit, that verse came true.

Everything I do in my life is now with God first in mind. He is at the top of my priority list, and I’m beginning to be a Christian witness to all of my peers at school. I pray now that what I got at BreakThru, others can get from me.

I have grown up in a Christian home, but now it is important for me to own my own faith and not just borrow from my parents. BreakThru changed my life in that it opened my eyes to God’s plan for my life. It was at BreakThru where I realized God’s calling for my life and where I decided to dedicate my life to full time ministry.

BreakThru is most definitely the best retreat I have ever been on. The staff is incredible and the people there are all so in love with God. I have learned how to take my faith and go into the world and share it with others. I now realize in a real way God’s power in my weakness.

I honestly used to imagine heaven with marshmallow like clouds, a sparkly tree of life in the middle of a park, and a golden “yellow brick road”. Not truly knowing the hugeness of “God loves you” made me frown when true heaven was described as …”worshipping God for eternity?” What’s fun about that? I went to church every Sunday, did my devotions, and was a Christian, but I had never experienced heaven on earth.

After 6 years of BreakThru, I have felt heaven on earth for 24 days. Those 24 days got me through the other 2,046 days. Imagine this…closing your eyes, on your knees, singing as loud as you can to God, and feeling loved. Loved as much as you can be loved. Feeling accepted. Complete. And loving someone back the same way.
